Question: Why do some people seem to exude peace of
mind while I struggle to be calm? What is the source of composure,

For better or worse, the quality and content of your life experience
is determined by what you are connected to. The next time you feel
yourself becoming agitated, simply notice to what idea you are connected.
See how simple this is, if you'll do it.
Here you are driving down the street and you start to notice that
you're feeling depressed. Or maybe you're feeling anxious. That's
the first step: to see yourself, to be awake to what's going on
within you. Ordinarily, the nature that feels negative, the self
that embraces that stressed state, looks to itself to explain to
itself why it feels like that, which does nothing but forward the
process. Now you have some new information. The reason that you're
in the condition you're in is because you're connected to what you're
connected to. Period. And what you're connected to in that moment
is nothing but some self-limiting idea you have of yourself -- an
idea that's telling you who you are, defining you based upon its
incomplete perception of life. For instance, in unheard whispers
it claims: "Unless so and so approves of my actions they're
worthless, which means I am too." Or, "If I lose that
account, or relationship, all will be lost"
ideas delivering wrong conclusions, unconscious conclusions which
become your tragedies.
The first objective is to work at waking up to what you are connected
to; and then from within your newly awakened awareness to see that
any painful idea defining you is an illusion, a shadow of yourself
cast from yet other conspiring mistaken ideas.
I urge you to take time, at least twice a day, preferably as many
times as you can possibly do it, to simply, deliberately become
aware of what you are connected to, and then drop it in favor of
your wish to have God's Life.
Repeatedly bring yourself back to yourself and then, from within
this present self-awareness, realize that instead of being connected
to that "you" which is always struggling to get something,
hoping to become someone, trying to resolve things - surrender yourself
to the understanding that the whole issue of who you are is already
resolved. Let go and know that Life is complete, timeless, and so
are you. Do not go into imagination. The self you imagine will be
a secret extension of the self you wish to escape. Everything you
need to wake up, to be New, to realize peace of mind is right there
with you without having to "create" it. But our ideas
don't report that to us. Our ideas report that we have to do something
to "get there." The illumined author Vernon Howard stressed
to his students the new idea that to succeed spiritually, "there's
nothing to do, only something to see." This is the truth. So
see in those moments that the way you perceive life is what is punishing
and then let what you start seeing change the ideas you
have about yourself.

WHY STATIN DRUGS DON'T WORK

1. They Don't Work One report published in the Expert Review of
Clinical Pharmacology concluded that statin advocates used a statistical
tool called relative risk reduction (RRR) to amplify statins'
trivial beneficial effects. If you look at absolute risk, statin
drugs benefit just 1 percent of the population. This means that
out of 100 people treated with the drugs, one person will have
one less heart attack. This doesn't sound so impressive, so statin
supporters use a different statistic called relative risk. "An
important feature of relative risk is that it tells you nothing
about the actual risk." Research published in Expert Review
of Clinical Pharmacology revealed that, in contrast to the current
belief that cholesterol reduction with statins decreases atherosclerosis,
the drugs may instead actually stimulate atherosclerosis and heart
2. Statins Reduce CoQ10 So while one of statins' claims to fame
is warding off heart disease, you're actually increasing your
risk when you deplete your body of CoQ10. The depletion of CoQ10
caused by the drug is why statins can increase your risk of acute
heart failure. So if you're taking a statin drug, you MUST take
Coenzyme Q10 as a supplement. If you're over 40, I would strongly
recommend taking ubiquinol instead of CoQ10, as it's far more
effectively absorbed by your body.
3. Statins Reduce Vitamin K2 Vitamin K2's biological role is to
help move calcium into the proper areas in your body, such as
your bones and teeth. It also plays a role in removing calcium
from areas where it shouldn't be, such as in your arteries and
soft tissues. Statin drugs inhibit the function of vitamin K2
in your body, which means taking them may put you at risk of vitamin
K2 deficiency, a condition known to contribute to a number of
chronic diseases, including: osteoporosis, heart disease, heart
attack and stroke.
4. Statins Reduce Ketone Production Statins lower cholesterol
by inhibiting the enzyme in your liver that produces cholesterol.
Unfortunately this is the same enzyme that produces not only CoQ10
but also ketones, which are crucial nutrients to feed your mitochondria
to help control aging.
5. Increased Risk of Serious Diseases Because statins deplete
your body of CoQ10, inhibit synthesis of vitamin K2, and reduce
the production of ketone bodies, they increase your risk of other
serious diseases. This includes: Cancer, Cataracts, Alzheimer's,
Huntington's, and Parkinson's disease, Musculoskeletal Disorders
like Myalgia, muscle weakness, muscle cramps, autoimmune muscle
disease and tendinous diseases. But more important Statin Drugs
can cause Diabetes! Statins have been shown to increase your risk
of diabetes via a number of different mechanisms. The most important
one is that they increase insulin resistance and statins increase
your diabetes risk by raising your blood sugar. Statins work by
preventing your liver from making cholesterol. As a result, your
liver returns the sugar to your bloodstream, which raises your
blood sugar levels. These drugs also rob your body of certain
valuable nutrients, which can also impact your blood sugar levels.
Two nutrients in particular, vitamin D and CoQ10, are both needed
to maintain ideal blood glucose levels. A 2011 meta-analysis confirmed
the higher the dosage of statin drugs being taken, the greater
the diabetes risk.

Lemon Poached Fish
Oven Temperature: 400° F
Baking Time: 35-40 min., 1-10" tube pan
Cooking Time: 20 minutes, greased 9'x13' baking pan
2 lbs. firm white fish filets (e.g., flounder, cod, halibut, sole,
1/2 cup lemon juice
2 tablespoons capers with liquid
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
1/4 teaspoon white pepper
1/4 teaspoon thyme
1/2 teaspoon parsley
2 tablespoons butter
In a greased 9" x 13" baking pan place fish in a single
Pour lemon juice over fish. Sprinkle fish with capers, salt, pepper,
thyme and parsley.
Dot tops of fish with butter. Add water to cover bottom of pan
Cover baking pan with aluminum foil and bake at 400° F for 20
minutes or until fish flakes with a fork.
Remove fish to a warm platter and save liquid for Caper-Lemon Sauce.
4 tablespoons butter
4 tablespoons flour blend (See page )
1 cup liquid (use poaching liquid plus rice milk to make one cup)
2 tablespoons capers
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon of pepper
Melt butter in saucepan. Take off heat and blend in flour, salt
and pepper. Whisk in liquid until well blended and put back over
Continue whisking until sauce thickens. Remove from heat and add
capers. Spoon over fish and serve.
